The former president had until last Sunday to hand himself over to police to start serving a 15-month sentence given to him by the Constitutional Court.
He subsequently made an application for a stay of his arrest in the Pietermaritzburg High Court, to keep him out of jail until his rescission application is heard by the apex court next week.
Zuma however, handed himself over to authorities two days ago and is currently in the Estcourt Correctional Centre.
