Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
There is snow at the Cathedral peak in Drakensberg.
This morning, holiday-goers staying at the Cathedral Peak's hotel woke to find light snow on top of the mountains.
Michelle Haines says despite the extremely cold weather, there's a lot of snow around them and she feels it might even snow overnight.
"The lower mountains were just covered in snow. There is a lot of cloud cover but it's freezing, freezing cold up here and there's snow all around us. It's really cool - it's kind of a bluely look outside. Everyone is so excited especially the kids. You know how children are," she said.
At the weekend, snow also fell on the Southern Drakensberg near Bushman's Nek.
Meanwhile, forecaster Wisani Maluleke from the SA Weather Service says there is a cloud blocking their satellite however he adds that its normal to get snow at this part of the year.
