PICS: Protesters block M1 in Chatsworth
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
Some residents at an informal settlement in Link Road near the busy M1 Higginson Highway in Chatsworth, south of Durban, fear for their lives.
The comment comes after protesters barricaded the road with rocks and burning tyres again this morning.
This resident who spoke to Newswatch asking not to be named says they're targeted by angry community members when they see them going to work.
"They say they want water and electricity and are fighting as soon as they see people going to work. They [intimidate] the people," she said.
The protesters are demanding service delivery. Metro Police say the roads have since been re-opened.
