PICS: Protesters bring M19 highway to standstill
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Motorists are being urged to avoid the M19 highway, between Umgeni Road and Westville.

Parts of the route have been blocked by protesters with police describing the situation as "volatile".
Durban Metro Police spokesperson, Parboo Sewpersad says officers are there and trying to defuse tensions.
The demonstrators, who're believed to be from an informal settlement, have blocked the M19 with burning debris over housing.
"The M19 is blocked from Blair Atholl eastbound to the N2. The westbound is blocked off from the N2 to Blair Atholl.
"Motorists are urged to consider alternate routes and not to use the M19 until we clear the roadway and disperse the crowd."
