PICS: KZN roads, homes completely flooded

Newswatch has been inundated with messages, photos and videos of flooding in areas south of the City. Bluff resident, Marcell de Waal has described how the downpour led to her home being flooded.

"We can't see out of our window - it is completely grey. Our road is completely flooded," she says.

Large parts of Amanzimtoti's under water, especially on the busy N2 and Kingsway routes. This worker says their office has been drenched. 

"It's just water coming in. We were busy working and we thought it was just normal rain. But water began flooding the office. The awnings were also breaking so people from the office needed to move their cars from under the awnings because of the wind," she says.

Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson is urging motorists who don't need to travel to avoid the roads.

"The roads are extremely wet. People need to stay off the roads. If they don't need to go anywhere, I would advise them to stay off the roads," he says.
