PICS: 5 arrested for allegedly running drug syndicate in Durban

Five men who were allegedly running a drug syndicate in Durban are in the dock today.

According to police - a suspect was arrested in March this year for allegedly manufacturing and dealing in drugs in Hillcrest.

During that bust - a drug lab was dismantled and narcotics with an estimated street value of R1.6 million were seized.
After several undercover operations - the Hawks on Sunday made more arrests in Chatsworth and Amanzimtoti - and believe they've cracked a syndicate.
"All syndicate members were arrested and charged accordingly. They are expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate's Court today," says Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo.
