Pick n Pay reacts to 'chicken or beef' incident
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Popular local supermarket, Pick n Pay have apologised to a shopper whose meat complaint was circulated on social media.

Pretoria resident Priscilla Beukes took to social media to share an image of a Grabouw boerewors package with a chicken foot that had been reportedly stuffed inside.
On the Facebook post, Beukes says she had purchased the product from one of the grocery's Pretoria branches.
Reacting to the incident, a Pick n Pay spokesman says the chain store has since reached out to Beukes.
Read the statement below:
When the boerewors in the picture being circulated on social media was returned to the store we refunded Mrs Beukes and apologised to her. We investigated this immediately and we can confirm that no chicken, including chicken feet, is used in making boerewors. Any meat going into boerewors would have gone through a mincer. Based on our investigations we do not believe that the product left our store in the way shown in the photograph.
