A man is lucky to be alive after his double cab bakkie came under fire this afternoon on the north coast.

Paramedics say the vehicle had been travelling alone on the N2 between Salt Rock and Tinley Manor when shots were fired at the 50-year-old man from a car that had pulled up next to him.
IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says the driver was lucky to be alive.
"Multiple rounds were shot into the vehicle. The vehicle lost control and rolled down the embankment. The driver was lucky to escape with minor injuries.
"The exact reason for assault is not yet known but the driver is an owner of several taxis in the Durban area. Police are on scene and are busy investigating," he said.
Police are investigating a case of attempted murder.
