PHOTOS: KZN women's reed walk
Updated | By Portia Cele

The event - by driven by the Department of Arts and Culture and the Royal Household - promotes social cohesion for women in the province.
The department says the event highlights Zulu women gathering together to empower one another as mothers and caregivers.
Although this ceremony resembles the Zulu Reed Dance - with the colourful, cultural celebration and carrying of the reeds - it differs as the uMkhosi woMhlanga focuses on young maidens and their journey into womanhood.
