PHOTOS: Brief chaos at Zulu Reed Dance
During the Reed Dance at the weekend, President Jacob Zuma had to be escorted away following unusual behaviour reported during the ceremony. See pictures below.
It was reported maidens started crying and rolling on the ground on Friday and Saturday.
King Goodwill Zwelithini had reportedly blamed "evil spirits" for the erratic behaviour of the young women.
Prince Zulu said that this has never occurred before at the Reed Dance.
Aside from the incident, the Zulu Royal Household says it was satisfied with the hosting of the Reed Dance.
