The Kloof and Highway SPCA has bid bon voyage to an African Rock Python it took in last month.

Inspectors were called out to Embo Valley in mid-March after receiving reports that a local dog had been killed by a large snake in the area.
When they got the python back to the clinic, they discovered the almost 4m long snake was in need of some TLC.

SPCA manager Barbara Patrick says the snake was very dehydrated.
"On examination of its mouth, we also found a tooth had come out and there was a slight infection in that area," she said.
Patrick says after giving the python a clean bill of health, they arranged to release him back into the wild.
