Updated | By Lauren Hendricks
Cell phones, drugs, and money have been confiscated from inmates during a raid at the Westville Correctional Centre.

Durban police and the Correctional Services national task team carried out the joint operation on Thursday night.
Law enforcement officers emptied prison cells, lined up convicts outside, and searched each room and bed for contraband items.
They seized electronic devices, drugs, WiFi routers and cash.
National Commissioner of Correctional Services Makgothi Thobakgale told the media that these searches are being carried out in regions throughout the country.
