Phoenix Civic Movement wants 'unity' to tackle eThekwini's service delivery
Updated | By Sandile Bhengu
The Phoenix Civic Movement says the various civic organisations and ratepayers associations in eThekwini need to work together if they are to win the battle against poor service delivery.
The movement's Vivian Pillay says in Phoenix residents are fed-up.
"There is an array of issues, water leaks on our streets, street lighting, sewerage spillage on our street, uncut verges.
"Our streets are not being cleaned. There is crime, billing system - that has a negative impact on the poor people of Phoenix, the shoddy treatment at the Sizakala centre where our senior citizens are going and being pushed from left and right."

Pillay says they are engaging with other organisations.
"We are forming a united front to take on the municipality for the mismanagement of public funds, corruption and the lack of service delivery which the president alluded to in his human rights speech.
"If service delivery is not provided, it is a violation of people's human rights for services like lights and water."
