Health Minister Joe Phaahla says the department is considering providing KwaZulu-Natal with additional support amid the ongoing Nehawu strike.
Healthcare workers belonging to the union have entered the second week of their industrial action over pay, which has disrupted services at a number of hospitals and clinics - across the country.
In KZN, striking nurses tried to prevent an ambulance transporting a critical child - from entering Stanger Hospital's trauma unit.
