Petrol price increase kicks in next Wednesday
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Energy Department says the price of petrol will be going up by between 69 and 72-cents a litre.
Diesel users pay 65-cents more for a litre from Wednesday. The department says the hefty increase is due to the Road Accident Fund levies and fuel transportation costs - which kick in on the 1st of April.

Meanwhile, on the back of the news of a rate cut, an economist says the Reserve Bank's decided to play it safe. Graeme Kerner, says the rand's strong performance is starting to pay off.
"I think it's a combination of things - the rand has been strong, the oil price has been relatively steady. Administered price inflation has been moderated and consumer demand is relatively benign. Every thing was in favour of a rate cut. It was very much the right thing to do," Kerner said.
