Petition to unseat Zuma reaches 135 000
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The country has expressed its distrust in President Jacob Zuma by signing a petition, demanding that he steps down.

The petition that was started on Thursday was created by Radio Dj Brent Lindeque and already more than 135 000 people have signed it.
Lindeque says he created the petition after the country woke up to what he believes is a political hangover when former Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene was fired last week.
Zuma has since appointed Pravin Gordhan to the position, taking over from David van Rooyen, who was appointed five days ago.
Lindeque says that the final step will be to hand over the petition to Public Protector Thuli Madonsela, who he says has agreed to forward it to Parliament.
"I don't think the number matters. Yes, as it grows it's a better way to bring voices together but the fact that on Thursday morning there were 100 people that were agreeing to this petition and speaking the same language means that there's a problem.
"The fact that now we're sitting on a 135 000 means that it's a bigger problem," he said.
