Updated | By Lauren Beukes
A group of Zionist worshippers is mourning the death of their pastor, who drowned at a beach in La Mercy, north of Durban.
They'd joined the spiritual leader for a prayer meeting, on South Beach Road, on Saturday night.
Police say the 43 year-old man went into the water to pray when he was hit by a wave.
His body was recovered the next day and an inquest docket has been opened.

First responders from Reaction Unit SA say they received a call from a woman.
Prem Balram says about 10 people were there.
"The priest was conducting a prayer and was swept out to sea. At about 10pm we had paramedics and reaction officers on standby to assist. The search was called off due to poor lighting and search and resumed and the pastor's body was found."
