A truck passenger has died after a truck he was travelling in crashed into several houses in Pietermaritzburg.

Emergency services found the heavy-duty vehicle had ploughed through two properties and parked cars before coming to a rest at a third house on Howick Road.
Midlands EMS's Roland Robertson says crews had to use specialised rescue equipment to get to both the truck driver and passenger.
