The IEC's Kate Bapela says when the Act takes effect, South Africa will join only a few countries in the world that force their political parties to disclose their funders to the public."We are looking [at the regulations] going into full effect by 2020 for the 2021 municipal elections," said Bapela.
"For me, central to this whole process is the administration of the actual Act. That will have an impact in terms of the political parties, as well as the organisations or individuals that will donate to the parties."
