Parts of KZN plunged into darkness after storms
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
Eskom says technicians are on ground restoring power to parts of KwaZulu-Natal that were plunged into darkness by Thursday night's storm.
The power utility's Joyce Zingoni says the heavy rains and strong winds knocked out the supply to areas in the north and south, as well as in the Midlands.

She's urged residents should treat installations as live as power could be restored without notice.
"Technicians have been deployed, but restoration may take longer than usual due to access problems."
On Thursday, the South African Weather Service issued a level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms, accompanied by strong damaging winds.
