KZN warned to brace for severe weather on Thursday

KwaZulu-Natal residents
have been asked to brace for severe weather conditions in parts of the province
on Thursday.
The SA Weather Service says a level 4 warning remains in place.
Severe thunderstorms, accompanied by strong damaging winds, are expected to lash eThekwini, Alfred Duma, Ndwedwe, Nkandla and KwaDukuza.
"We are expecting flooding of roads at settlements and low-lying areas which may lead to the closure of some of the bridges and roads," says forecaster Wisane Maluleke.

"So the displacement of some communities in low-lying areas and banks is possible. Danger to life due to fast flowing streams is possible, damage to settlement or structure due to strong winds and falling trees blocking major roads and fire accidents due to lightning."
The N3 Toll Concession's Thania Dhoogra has appealed to travellers to be extra careful.
"Motorists are advised to expect difficult driving condition along sections of the route as a result. They are encouraged to adopt defensive driving techniques, reduce speed, increase visibility by switching headlights on and increase following distances."
