Parli committee to consider Public Protector funding
Updated | By OFM
Parliament's Portfolio Committee on Justice is soon going to consider Public Protector Thuli Madonsela's request for more money.

She appeared before the committee last week asking for R263.3 million for her office.
The meeting made media headlines when ANC MPs in the committee refused to apologise to Madonsela - for the way she has been treated over the Nkandla issue.
Committee Chair Mathole Motshekga says they will have to look at the bigger picture.
"That was a briefing on the budget motivating why we should give them more money and telling us about their challenges and achievements. It's not only one plea from the Office of the Public Protector," he said.
"There are other Chapter 9 Institutions which also have challenges so we have to look at the matter holistically," said Motshekga.
