Parents warned about social media posts
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Police say parents should either minimise sharing posts involving their children on social media or activate the necessary privacy settings.
This comes as a man appeared in the Port Shepstone Regional Court yesterday - after being found in possession of around 300 pornographic files of children under the age of 15.
The man was found to have downloaded images shared by other people on their profiles.
The suspect is also being charged with sexual assault of one of his daughters.

The police's Thembeka Mbhele says police were led to the suspect through social media and they are doing their best to clamp down on these types of criminals.
"We have a challenge because the photos are downloaded from a cellphone. As a parent, you take a [harmless] photo of a child and post it on social media. That's how he was getting the photos. They must at least minimise the way they post photos of their children on social media," she says.
