The guardian of the 16-year-old who was seen in a video being beaten up by a fellow learner opened the case today.

The video, which has been shared thousands of times on social media, shows the Werda High School learner being confronted before being slapped, pushed to the ground and kicked several times.

The scuffle on Tuesday, started apparently after the victim reported the bully to school management for allegedly carrying a knife to school.

The boy's sister, who is also his foster mother, has told Newswatch she said her brother still somewhat traumatised.
