Pardon among proposals being considered for Zuma, says Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa says government is considering all proposals that have been made regarding the jailing of former president Jacob Zuma.

They include a suggestion by KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala for the former president to be pardoned.
"Our provincial leadership and a number of people have been suggesting that we should look at a variety of measures of dealing with the difficult situation where the court has made a ruling.

"President Jacob Zuma must be credited and applauded for having complied with what the court did rule."
Ramaphosa was speaking during a visit in Durban to assess the impact of the looting.
The riots were sparked by calls for the release of Zuma from prison.
He’s serving a 15-month sentence in Estcourt for contempt of court.
