Pappas vows to place eThekwini under administration
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The Democratic Alliance's KZN premier candidate says eThekwini Municipality should be placed in administration.

Chris Pappas says this would be the first act of his provincial cabinet should he be elected.
"The second thing that I will do is to ensure that we have a comprehensive review of the manager and the deputy managers who are responsible for front-line services. It really is unacceptable that you have highly-paid civil servants who cannot account for their failures."
Pappas on Monday presented an alternative State of the City Address at Durban Fun World ahead of Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda’s speech on Tuesday.
He said despite an annual budget of more than R60 billion, eThekwini Municipality is still struggling to provide basic services to residents.

Pappas believes fixing the water and sewage problems, which he's described as crises, should be the priority.
"It is impossible that so much money is set aside, yet there are so many problems that still exist."
