Pakistan is today observing a day of national mourning for at least 20 victims of an attack at a university North West of the country.

Yesterday, four armed gunmen stormed Bacha Khan University in Charsadda targeting students with grenades and automatic weapons.
Flags have been flown at half-mast on all government buildings inside and outside the country while a prayer ceremony has also been held in the capital, Islamabad.
All four gunmen were killed in the shooting, which lasted almost three hours, against security forces.
Photos from the scene show overturned furniture and bloody floors could be seen inside a hostel where the majority of the students died.
Victims were laid to rest yesterday according to Muslim tradition, including assistant chemistry Professor Syed Hamid Husain who has been hailed a hero for trying to shield students from the perpetrators.
