Over 680 000 coronavirus cases recorded in SA

Thirty-eight more people in South Africa have died from COVID-19 related illnesses, bringing the death toll since the outbreak here to 16 976.

The country's recorded just over 1 500 new infections in the last 24 hours - we've now identified more than 681 000 cases.
The recovery rate remains steady at 90%, which means over 614 000 people have beat the virus.
KwaZulu-Natal has more than 5 900 active cases.
Almost 111 000 people have recovered from COVID-19, while over 2 700 others have died.
