Over 48k set to attend King Misuzulu's certificate handover - Dube-Ncube

KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube says over 48 000 people are expected to converge on the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban this weekend for King Misuzulu's certificate handover.

"These will include amabutho, oMama beSphithiphithi, Izintombi, ordinary people," says Dube-Ncube.


President Cyril Ramaphosa will officially hand over the certificate of recognition to the monarch on Saturday.


Dube-Ncube says over 2 500 guests and dignitaries from around the world have been invited to the event.


"Which includes Heads of State, Former Presidents; Kings and Queens, Judiciary; Legislatures; Diplomatic Corp; Business Sector."


"Some of the confirmed foreign dignitaries comprise of: His Majesty the King Mswati III from Eswatini;, His Majesty King from Nigeria; His Majesty King from Zambia; His Majesty King from Zimbabwe; His Majesty King Gungunyane from the Province of Gaza from Mozambique; Prince and spouse from Lesotho representing His Majesty King Letsie III; Former President of Botswana, H.E. Ian Khama; and Four Ministers from Eswatini."


The premier says due to the large crowd they are anticipating, an overflow area has been set up.


"Due to the magnitude and significance of this once in a life time event we are anticipating a huge attendance and as such an overflow venue has been arranged at the People’s Park both in the East and West wings and public viewing screens will be installed to accommodate as many people as possible."


"Over eighty buses and more than two hundred minibus taxis have been arranged to transport Amabutho, oMama, Izintombi."
