Over 400 KZN frontline diagnosed with COVID-19

Premier Sihle Zikalala says over 400 healthcare workers in KwaZulu-Natal have tested positive for COVID-19.

"With regard to public servants and municipal officials testing positive, we have noted a gradual increase in the number of positive cases involving public servants," he says. 


Zikalala updated the media on the pandemic's impact on our province at a briefing in Mayville on Sunday.

He says they want to make sure that those affected by the outbreak are given the proper care. 


"We trace and test staff who have been in contact with those who tested positive. We undertake daily screening of all public servants and regular decontamination of all public buildings, where people have tested positive.


"We continue to appeal to all public servants, and the people of this province at large, to take the necessary precautions at all times."
