Over 300 arrested for sexual offences in KZN

Over 326 people were arrested in KZN last month for offences against women and children.

KZN police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says cases opened include rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, kidnapping and child abandonment.
She says some of the perpetrators have already been convicted and sentenced.

"Detectives from the KwaZulu-Natal Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit embarked on various operations from 1 March 2021 to 31 March."
"The determination from the KwaZulu-Natal detectives led to 20 convictions, which includes four life sentence and 116 years imprisonment behind bars.
