Over 30 KZN convictions in sexual abuse cases

KZN Police say they've made a total of 34 convictions in sexual abuse related cases in the month of October.

On Friday, Police Minister Bheki Cele released the latest quarterly crime statistics.
Police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the convictions and arrests were made across the province.
"Investigators managed to secure 10 life sentences. A total of 34 convictions were made with 277 years of sentencing were secured at various courts in the province", she said.
"From the 1st to the 31st of October 409 suspects were arrested for various cases such rape, sexual assault, statutory rape, kidnapping as well as other cases", Gwala said.
