Over 3 000 jobs expected to be created in KZN

The Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs has announced that a new automotive manufacturing plant is set to be built in KwaDukuza, north of Durban.
The development will be led by Metair, a manufacturer, distributor and retailer of energy storage solutions and automotive components.
According to Metair, they have secured multiple contracts from Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) as the local arm of the US vehicle maker prepares to launch new vehicles for the local and export markets.

The total funding requirements were estimated at R1.3 billion for Metair, while more than R900 million would be invested in property, plant and equipment.
Department spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya says: "The MEC pointed out in an announcement that a company that is involved in the automotive industry will be investing billions of rands in KwaZulu-Natal. She believes that this investment will assist to create much need jobs."
