Over 100 arrested in Chatsworth for flouting Covid regulations
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
A Chatsworth community activist says the arrest of those caught flouting the lockdown rules in the area should serve as a stern warning.
Chatsworth police arrested over 100 people over the past week for failing to wear a mask in terms of the Disaster Management Act.
Other related charges were failing to confine oneself to their residence, public drinking, and illegal dealing in liquor.
Visvin Reddy says locals show no signs of care when moving around the area.

"Chatsworth is a hotshot area. It was identified as a hotspot area previously and in spite of that, people show complete disregard for the lockdown regulations.
"People do not use their masks. They are seen loitering outside the curfew period, they are gathering in large numbers and this is a recipe for disaster. It's a recipe for more deaths to come."
Police are continuing to intensify operations in the area in an effort to contain the spread of Covid-19.
