OUTA KZN want Gumede dismissal fast-tracked
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
eThekwini says the fate of its embattled mayor, Zandile Gumede must be determined by judicial processes.
This after calls from the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse for Gumede to relinquish the mayoral chains for good due to the corruption charges she's facing.
Gumede was arrested earlier this year in connection with a multi-million-rand refuse removal tender dating back to 2016.
OUTA KZN spokesperson, Tim Tyrrell says the city must act in the best interests of society.

"We will probably escalate it to a higher body. For example, the Cogta department, at national and provincial level. We will also reserve our right to launch legal action," Tyrrell said.
The municipality's Msawakhe Mayisela says they're willing to sit down and engage with civil society. He says the law must be allowed to take its course.
