Oscar Pistorius to be sentenced in June for murder

Oscar Pistorius has appeared briefly in the Pretoria High Court.

Sentencing proceedings following his murder conviction will take place between the 13th and 17th of June.
Pistorius had originally been convicted of culpable homicide after shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in February 2013. The State appealed the verdict last year and Pistorius was convicted of murder.
As anticipated, the court was once again packed to capacity. The Pistorius family was led by Oscar's father, sister and aunt in the front row. No one from the Steenkamp family was in attendance.

The matter was briefly dealt with, with the State not opposing Pistoruis' bail. Outside court, a group has been protesting in support fo Oscar Pistorius.
