They have given their assessment of Kaunda's State of the City Address.

At the ICC on Tuesday, the mayor gave an update on service delivery, Durban's infrastructure challenges and plans to stimulate the local economy.

Democratic Alliance councillor Remona Mckenzie says they weren't impressed.

"Basically we sat here, listening to a mayor speak over 93 pages of, for me, nothing. We need to see development, if you come to Sydenham, Asherville or Musgrave you will see broken pipes, water leaks and a whole lot of issues with sewer."

Action SA's Zwakele Mcwango says it was a repetition of previous speeches.

"He spoke about R28 billion of a dam in Umkomazi. I was in Exco when that dam was discussed and that was maybe seven years ago and today he speaks as if it is something new. We never see any job creation because we keep clapping hands for the same thing over and over again

Muzi Hlengwa who's with African People First agrees.

"We heard of SOCA and it is a repetition and i am sure when we come back again it will be the same thing. I am shocked that the mayor promised GO!Durban will be working but we have no buses. It is an electioneering programme for us."
