Opposition parties disappointed at Kaunda's re-election in eThekwini

Opposition parties have reacted to the re-election of Mxolisi Kaunda as eThekwini mayor.
Kaunda was re-elected and sworn in on Wednesday at a re-convened council meeting.
He received 113 votes, beating the Democratic Alliance's (DA) Nicole Graham, who got 104 votes.
Graham says they will not allow the African National Congress (ANC) to do as it pleases.
"The ANC will need to make concessions, they need to work with opposition parties and they will need to make sure that they can get a majority at every single council meeting to pass what they want to do.
"And that is going to give the Democratic Alliance incredible power. We have a quarter of that council and we will ensure that we fight for our residents at every opportunity."
KwaZulu-Natal Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) chairperson Vusi Khoza said: "What we hoped for as the EFF was a total removal of the ANC from the executive of the municipality.
"Nonetheless, democracy prevails and we accept the outcome and we are still determined to make sure that we hold the current administration accountable."
The Inkatha Freedom Party's (IFP) Narend Singh says they hope for stability.
"The mayor was re-elected in a democratic process and it seems smaller parties got together and we just hope that it is going to be stable - there's going to be stability and service delivery."
