While some feel it's pushed them to work harder this year, others are still dealing with the impact of the virus on their personal lives.
Grade 12s have one week to go until the start of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams with English Paper One.
For KwaZulu-Natal pupil, Lara Horn studying from home has been demanding.
She's also been exposed to Covid-19.
"In terms of Covid I think it's made it even worse because I find it very difficult to have to stay in the stay location and study and now get out and about and with Covid I am going to have to isolate for the next couple of days so that makes it even more difficult."
Nonhlanhla Dlamini from Zimeme High School has eight papers to write.
She's encouraging herself to work hard.
"I am making my own personal timetable and managing my time wisely made it possible for me to study every day and to study each subject I am doing.
"Also, knowing that every subject is as important but in some ways it encouraged me to study more to cover all the time that has been lost during the Covid-19 pandemic."
