One killed, three hurt during Venezuela vote

A woman has been shot dead in Venezuela as people headed to the polls for a vote challenging the President, Nicolas Maduro.

Prosecutors say gunmen on motorbikes attacked voters lining up for the opposition-organized ballot - killing a 61-year-old woman and wounding three people.  

Video footage of the incident in the capital - shows a panicked crowd running and screaming while gunshots are fired.

The election comes after months of anti-government protests and asks Venezuelans whether they support the president's plans to have a citizens' body elected - to carry out a constitutional do-over.

The attack, in the working class neighborhood of Catia, was being investigated, the public ministry said in a statement.
