One killed, nine injured in separate Durban crashes

Authorities are investigating two accidents in Durban, in which one person was killed and nine hurt.

Two cars collided head on Higginson Highway near Shallcross late last night.
Rescue Care says the driver of one of the cars died as a result of the extensive injuries he suffered.
Four other occupants of the car were seriously hurt - two of them are children aged two and ten.
Paramedics say the driver of the second car escaped with moderate injuries.

In the early hours of this morning - two other cars crashed in Durban Central.
The accident left four people injured.
One of the victims had to be freed from the car by the fire department - and suffered serious injuries.
