One killed after truck crashes into another at Mariannhill

A truck ploughed into another stationary heavy-duty vehicle near the Mariannhill Toll Plaza, killing one person.
One of the trucks had broken down on the N3 highway on Friday.
It was being attended to by mechanics on the side of the road when the accident happened.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says the driver of the other truck lost control and veered off the road, smashing into the parked vehicle.
"At this stage, one person has been declared deceased by paramedics and another has sustained critical injuries.
"Advanced life support paramedics are working to stabilise the man on scene before he will be transported to a nearby hospital for the urgent care that he requires."
