One dead, police officer hurt in Hammarsdale shooting
KZN police are investigating a shooting incident that left one man dead and a police officer wounded in Hammarsdale, west of Durban.
The officer had apparently gone to visit his 59-year-old friend on Thursday, when they were approached by people who claimed to be looking for missing cattle.
They then allegedly pulled out guns and shot the officer and his friend.
Police Spokesperson Thulani Zwane says motive is unknown at this stage.
