Officials ready for launch of KZN-Mozambique road
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Excitement is building ahead of the opening of a new route that will better link KwaZulu-Natal and Mozambique.
Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs MEC, Sihle Zikalala says the road between Maputo in Mozambique and Kosi Bay will be more than just an alternative route for motorists.
It will be a safer option for business people and holidaymakers.
"It fares well for tourism, for us, and Mozambique to make life easier for tourists to commute. Once there is physical infrastructure, investors get confident to invest," he said.

Officials say the travel time will be slashed from six hours to around 90 minutes.
The department says work on the project is progressing well with the road expected to be opened later this month.
