Officials investigate mystery smoke in northern KZN
Updated | By Zongile Nhlapo
The KZN Agriculture Department is sending a team of experts to Dlebe in northern KZN today to investigate smoke said to be coming out of the ground before sparking small flames.

The IFP's Blessed Gwala sought the Ministry's intervention after visiting the community yesterday and seeing it for himself.
Gwala says he's never witnessed anything like it before and it's worrying because it's happening in a residential area.
"While you are looking at that, at the same time on the other side you will see smoke which will later become a flame. This is happening on a larger scale such that we are scared that maybe this can cause disaster to the nearby families," he said.
Paulpietersburg-based geologist, Mark Meyer says this could be caused by a number of things including coal.
