KZN Education are eyeing at the least a 76% matric pass rate this year.
MEC Mthandeni Dlungwana has been speaking at the 100-day countdown to the 2017 Final Matric Exams in Durban.
He stressed the department has provided all the necessary resources to all the province's districts to ensure pupils are properly prepared for their exams.
"We will achieve this, by among other things, eliminating the 0% pass rate schools, ensuring that no school performs below 30% and increasing the number of 100% pass percentage schools in our province," he said.

Last year, KZN was the third worst performing province - scoring a pass rate of 69.5%.
But it was an improvement from the previous year's 60.7%.
