KZN Co-operative Governance says the process of reconstituting the uMzinyathi Municipal Council will get underway soon.
The council falls under Nquthu where the IFP won 14 of the municipality's 17 wards in by-elections this week.
Lennox Mabaso says once the results have been gazetted by the IEC - the department has to convene the first council meeting where councillors will be sworn in by a judge.

This process takes place within 14 days after elections.
"The process will then be followed by an election of representatives and office bearers to the uMzinyathi District," he said.
