Warrant Officer Hemant Raghoonundun took the stand today, as Sibonelo Mkhize's trial got into its third today.

Mkhize stands charged with aggravated robbery and two counts of murder - Sadia's and his alleged accomplice, Siyabonga Bulose, who was also shot and killed that fateful day.

Raghoonundun was at home that morning when he heard a volley of gunshots.

He raced outside and a few moment later and saw a grey Hyundai Tucson- the Sukhrajs’ vehicle - speed past.

It veered off the roadway and crashed into the park across the street. He saw a man jump out and start to run.

He yelled at him to stop and that he was a policeman. He says the man stopped for a moment, turned around and looked at him but then carried on down a footpath.

Raghoonundun fired one warning shot and then gave chase.

He says when he eventually caught the man that he found him with a lady’s handbag - the same handbag Shailendra Sukhraj earlier this week identified as his wife’s.

Raghoonundun has also positively identified Mkhize as the man he arrested.
