eThekwini's city manager, Sipho Nzuza and former mayor, Zandile Gumede have been named as among nine main role-players in the Durban Solid Waste tender scandal.

The 22 accused appeared briefly in the Durban Commercial Crimes Court today - where the indictment was served.
They face a combined total of 2 786 corruption-related charges.
The 324-page indictment details the alleged flow of money into the accounts of Gumede and several others.
The State says from invoices and investigations, it's been established that over R320 million was unlawfully and intentionally stolen collectively.
According to the indictment, Gumede, Nzuza, deputy head of the city's Supply Chain Unit, Sandile Ngcobo and several councillors received illicit payments from the contract.

The spokesperson for Gumede's supporters, Ntando Khuzwayo said they welcome news that the indictment has finally been served.
"We are happy now that there is finally movement in the case. We keep coming here and the case has continuously been postponed."
"Now there is a cloud that has been hanging over them for the longest time. Now that the matter is going to trial, we are happy."
The matter has been postponed to June.
