NUMSA and Hulamin reach agreement on employee salaries
Updated | By Nothando Mthembu
Metalworkers' union NUMSA has agreed on a deal with a Maritzburg-based aluminum supplier and exporter after a weeks-long battle with the employer overpay.
Hulamin will be paying workers in full for the duration of the lockdown.
Two employees tested positive for COVID-19 last month - which led to the Edendale site being shut for decontamination.
Employees were told they won't receive salaries during that time.
